This year we have quite a few Rehab Plus Phoenix and Ethan Banning alumni’s and friends reporting to camp. We are pleased to now have Ethan Banning as part of our sports performance team at Rehab Plus. Ethan previously owned a company called Triple Threat Performance where he developed a tremendous reputation in the sports performance world. Ethan has trained a number of elite athletes from various sports, including Pablo Sandoval from the World Series Champion San Francisco Giants. Ethan will be a frequent contributor to our blogs and newsletters and he will be a tremendous addition to our facility. Following is a list of some of Rehab Plus’ and Ethan Banning’s alumni and clients from the NFL reporting to camp. Good luck to all!
Ron Ninkovich (DE) – The New England Patriots signed Ninkovich on August 2, 2009. During the 2012 offseason, he was moved to defensive end, his previous starting outside linebacker position being filled by rookie Dont’a Hightower. Ninkovich, starting opposite rookie Chandler Jones, led the team with 8 sacks and netted 58 tackles. He also forced 5 fumbles, including 2 in a game against the Denver Broncos and a game-ending overtime strip sack against the Jets.
LaGarrette Blount (RB) – LaGarrette was signed by the Buccaneers and made a distinction of only being the second undrafted running back to record over 1000 yards in a season. In the 2013 off season he was traded to the Patriots.
Billy Bajema (TE) – Billy Bajema is a tight end for the Baltimore Ravens. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Oklahoma State.
Cody Larsen (DT) – Many of you may have seen Cody’s videos doing some great work with Ethan. Well Cody got picked up by the Ravens for 2013. We are looking forward to seeing some great things from Cody. For up to date information on Cody visit www.larsenfootball.com.
Dennis Pitta (TE) – Dennis has been instrumental to the Ravens success including contributing some big plays in last year’s Super Bowl. Unfortunately, we just got word that Dennis fractured his hip during July 27th’s workout and will be out for the season. We wish Dennis a speedy recovery and return.
Brett Kiesel (DT) – Brett has spent his 11 year career with the Pittsburgh Steelers and in 2010 was voted to the Pro Bowl. He is affectionately known for “Da Beard” and is quite a character (driving a dump truck to Friday’s camp practice)
Justin Hickman (LB) – Hickman is one of St. Mary’s High Schools own and worked his way into the NFL. In 2009 Justin played in the CFL and worked his way to being a CFL All-Star in 2011. In 2012 he signed a 2 year contract with the Colts.
Dwight Freeney (DE) – Drafted by the Colts in 2002, Dwight is a 7 time Pro-Bowler. In May Dwight was traded to the Chargers. Nick Hardwick (OC) – What is impressive about Nick is that he didn’t play high school football, but started is football career in 2002 with Purdue. Nick was drafted in the NFL in 2004 and has spent his career with the Chargers.
Zach Miller (TE) – Zach is one of own local players as an All-American High School Player out of Desert Vista and played 3 seasons with ASU before entering the draft in 2007. He was picked up by the Raiders and was in the 2010 Pro-Bowl. In 2011 he joined the Seahawks and has been a strong contributor since.
Ray Polk (SS) – Ray is a local kid out of Brophy and played with Colorado University before entering the draft this year. Even though he had an impressive combine showing he went undrafted and was picked up by the Jaguars picked up Ray just prior to training camp. Ray is already showing what he is capable of with an impressive showing on his first day of camp
Charly Martin (WR) – Charly spent last year with the Seahawks but recently was picked up after being put on waivers by the San Francisco 49er’s. What some people may not know is that Charly has a degree in Broadcasting, so don’t be surprised that he may be joining the ranks of NFL broadcasters.
Lyle Sendlein (C) – Lyle is a local player and played at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale and started varsity 3 of his 4 years. He signed with the Cardinals in 2007 and in 2008 became the starting center and has played that role ever since.
Jason Avant (WR) – Jason was drafted by the Eagles and 2006 and has been a key role player ever since. In 2010 he was named the Eagles Ed Block Courage Award recipient for being a role model of inspiration, sportsmanship, and courage.
David Diehl (OT) – David was drafted by the Giants in 2003. He is a versatile player by playing both tackle and guard positions. He was elected to the 2010 Pro-Bowl and was part of the Super Bowl XLII, and XLVI.
Victor Butler (LB) – Victor was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2009 and was picked up this year by the Saints. He was hurt during training camp on June 12th with a torn ACL. We wish him a quick recovery and return to the field.
